To properly take care of your pearl, it is important to know what it is made of.
Pearls are a tight stack of thin layers of aragonite, comparable to fish scales. This is a very hard material that resists shocks well. However, this material is sensitive to acidic attacks, so we recommend not bringing them into contact with any acidic products (perfumes, sunscreen, bleach, etc.).
What to do if my pearl comes into contact with an acidic product ?
If it comes into contact with corrosive products, rinse it as quickly as possible with water. Rub the pearl with your fingers to remove any product that may have deposited on the pearl.

Pearls are composed of 2% water, and it is advisable to rehydrate them often. It is good to wear pearls because they rehydrate from contact with the skin. For storage, it is recommended, in dry places, to place a glass of water nearby to humidify the surrounding air. Your bathroom can also be an ideal place to store them, as it is always humid. It is unnecessary, as sometimes suggested, to coat the pearl with monoi or olive oil, as this makes it greasy and only attracts dust.
In the case of an all-pearl necklace, strung on silk thread, avoid immersing the necklace in water as this can weaken the silk thread. Simply clean the necklace thoroughly, even in hard-to-reach places, with a cloth dampened with water.
